Programme description
Series of operational meteorological satellites in geostationary orbit.
Developed and operated by KARI for KMA or ME (NIER) (Ministry of Ennvironment) or MLTM (Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs), depending on the specific mission.
3-axis stabilised platforms.
The design life of the satellites is 10 years.
The orbital position may be either 128.2°E or 116.2°E.

Data circulation
CDAS (Command and Data Acquisition System) for real-time acquisition of the full information, pre-processing at MODAC (Meteo/Ocean Data Application Center) and re-transmission in near-real time.
HRIT (High Resolution Information Transmission) for near-real time broadcasting of the full information.
LRIT (Low Rate Information Transmission) for broadcasting of image frames and other data.
