Programme description
Satellite programme, for solar-terrestrial interaction.
Joint NOAA-NASA programme - NASA responsible of the development of the space segment, NOAA of the development of the ground segment and of operations and exploitation.
The platforms are 3-axes stabilized.
The design lifetime of the satellites are 5 years.
The satellites are placed on the L1 Lagrange libration point (1,500,000 km from the Earth surface) pointing at the Sun and its environment.
Data circulation
Ground services performed by NOAA in accordance with NOAA's Ground Enterprise Requirement Structure.
Data Processing performed by the NWS Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).
Archived data available from the NESDIS National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)
