Satellite Programme: NigeriaSat
Programme details
Programme description
Series of satellites for land observation.
Nigerian programme: NSRDA responsible of development and operations.
The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes (NigeriaSat-1 by gravity gradient).
The design life time is 5 years (7 for NigeriaSat-2).
The satellites exploit sunsynchronous orbits around 10:30, consistent with the Disaster Monitoring Constellation.
The replacement policy is based on launching satellites in sequence, roughly 6 months before the expected end-of-life of a satellite.

Data circulation
Data stored onboard and transmitted to two ground stations, one at NCRS (National Center for Remote Sensing), Jos Plateau; the other one at CSTD (Center for Satellite Technology and Development), Abuja.
Data circulating within the Disaster Monitoring Constellation consortium in free and fast fashion. Open access granted.
