Programme description
"Huan Jing" means "Environment".
Series of satellites for land observation, contributing to the Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC).
Chinese programme: CRESDA (China Center for Resources Satellite Data and Application) responsible of management and operations, CAST (Chinese Academy of Space Technology) of development.
The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time is 5 years.
The satellite exploits the sunsynchronous orbit of the DMC around 10:30.
Redundancy is implemented by co-flying with several other similar satellites in the DMC.

Data circulation
Data stored onboard and transmitted to receiving stations in China at Miyun (Beijing), Kashi and Hainan.
Data processing and analysis performed by CRESDA (China Center for Resource Satellite Data and Application).
