Programme description
An ESA mission to launch a prototype Arctic Weather Satellite in a sun-synchronous orbit which has a microwave sounder
Planned to be a precursor of a constellation of satellites operated by EUMETSAT named
EPS-Sterna
The objective is to increase the number and frequency of observations over the poles and also provide more frequent microwave soundings for nowcasting
