Programme description
Single-satellite programme in the framework of the US Earth Science Decadal Survey, addressing atmospheric aerosol.
Main involved NASA centres: Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California; Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia; and Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Other involvments: several universities, federal research organizations and international partners.
The platform is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time of the satellites is 3 years.
Sunsynchronous orbit around 10:30.
