Satellite Description
  • NASA and University of Iowa Research mission for space weather to study fields and particles at the magnetic cusp region encircling the Earth’s north pole.
  • TRACERS-A and TRACERS-B will fly through the Earth's cusps in sun-synchronous orbits at an altitude of 500 km with separations ranging from 10 s to 120 s and are expected to have more than 3250 encounters with the cusps in the one-year mission lifetime.
