Programme description
  • Constellation of satellites (18 at regime) for SAR imagery, proof-of-concept for a future operational constellation of microsatellites. 
  • Commercial programme implemented by ICEYE Ltd, Espoo, Finland.  
  • The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes.
  • The design life time is 5 years for individual satellites, undetermined for the full constellation.
  • The replacement policy is based on launching satellites taking advantage of launch opportunities.
  • Gen4 delivers the world's highest-fidelity commercial SAR imagery and faster revisit over priority areas, with up to 16 cm resolution, a 400 km high-resolution field of regard.
  • The orbit is sunsynchronous in most case, with heights ranging from 500 to 600 km, and ECT conditioned by the launch opportunity.
