Programme description
Programme for high-latitude frequent observation.
Russian programme: Roscosmos responsible of development, RosHydroMet of operations.
The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time is 10 years.
The satellites exploit the Highly Elliptical Molniya orbit.
The two satellites are flown at nearly the same time, with coordinated dephased orbital planes.
