BackForward Satellite Programme: Stratosphere Troposphere Response using Infrared Vertically-resolved light Explorer

Programme details
Programme description
  • STRIVE is part of NASA’s Earth Science Explorers (ESE) programme.
  • The University of Washington is the lead
  • STRIVE’s observations provide insights into our understanding of stratosphere-troposphere interactions and their impact on the ozone layer, weather, and air quality.
  • A single satellite 3 year research mission.

Data circulation
  • ALICE data processing and distribution are handled by an established National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) facility, which processed the heritage HIRDLS data and currently supports MOPITT. ARGOS data processing is provided by QS, leveraging GSFC OMPS-LP data processing heritage.
