One of NASA's lower cost Earth Venture Instruments (EVI-6)
Twin satellites with dual band radiometers
In drifting orbits at low inclination separated by 3-8 hrs
2 year lifetime
PolSIR will provide key observational constraints on ice properties in climate models and enable modelers to develop more accurate cloud parameterizations.
