Single-satellite programme in the framework of the US Earth Science Decadal Survey, addressing aerosol and carbon flux at ocean surface.
Several NASA centres involved: Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) leader. Active role of CNES.
The platform is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time of the satellites is 5 years.
Sunsynchronous orbit around 12:00.
