Programme description
Single-satellite programme, for ocean colour monitoring.
Programme organised on commercial basis by Orbital Imaging Corporation (ORBIMAGE), changing name to GeoEye in 2006. Data purchased by NASA.
The platform is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time is 5 years.
The satellite is on a sunsynchronous orbit at 12:00.

Data circulation
Reduced-resolution global data are stored onboard and downlinked to stations managed by GeoEye from its Headquarters in Dulles, VA.
Real-time data are broadcast to appointed S-band stations in a format compatible with HRPT.
