Programme description
  • In 2022 NOAA established the LEO-OP to manage low Earth orbit satellite missions.
  • The aim is to have a more disaggregated satellite Earth observing capability.
  • The first LEO-OP mission is the QuickSounder satellite in 2025 in an early morning sun-synchronous orbit.
  • More satellites will follow in various orbits.

  • The data will be freely available.
