Programme description
Single-satellite programme, addressing properties of the Magnetosphere.
Joint JAXA-NASA programme: JAXA responsible of satellite development, NASA of the launch. Shared mission operations
The platform is spin-stabilised.
The design life time is 4 years.
The satellite exploits an elliptical orbit, highly elongated along the magnetospheric tail.

Data circulation
Onboard stored and real-time data downlinked to the Usuda and Kagoshima stations (Japan) and at the NASA's Deep Space Network. JAXA is responsible for spacecraft operations. Scientific data distributed from JAXA and NASA.
