Variable sorting criteria
Each instrument is assigned with a 5-step rating, evaluated as a blend of several elements. For this particular Variable, the rating is driven by:
whether the broad-band measurement is associated to bi-axial capability to account for BRDF;
the covered spectral range.

Broad-band radiometer with frequent sampling from L1 or GEO or Molniya
Broad-band radiometer possibly supported by narrow-band channels
Spectrometer covering UV, VIS, NIR and SWIR
Spectrometer covering UV, VIS and possibly NIR
Radiometer with channels in UV, VIS, NIR and possibly SWIR
Radiometer with channels in VIS, NIR and possibly SWIR, multi-viewing and possibly multi-polarisation
Radiometer with channels in VIS, NIR and SWIR, possibly hyperpectral
Radiometer with channels in VIS and NIR, possibly hyperspectral
